"Subject: My Grandson

Yesterday my daughter and I was inform by John Hopkins & Our
primary care Physician of the results of Anthony’s (my grandson, [my
nephew aka Kumau]) MIR.  Anthony (my nephew in my default picture) has
a form of brain damage defined DEMYELINATION which means that the
Myelin in his brain is decreasing. Myelin "is a soft white somewhat
fatty material that forms a thick myelin sheath about the protoplasmic
core of a myelinated nerve fiber".

Our follow-up appointment is
currently scheduled for May 16th, (that’s a very long time) so our
primary care physician is doing everything possible to get this date
changed to within the next week or so.  He still needs to get some
extensive blood tests to narrow down the cause and possible solutions.
In the meantime, Anthony condition continue to change, as of today he
can no longer crawl and sleeps most of the time. He still calls both my
daughter and myself by name, sings, watch television and read his
books. He at one time could walk, talk and do so many things a toddler
normally does. I ask that everyone just keep him in prayer.

Thanks
Jeanette"

I got this email on March 28, 2000, and my nephew passed away March
17, 2001 (six years ago). He’s one of my reasons for taking so many
pics of people.

oh the drama and pain, the delight and ecstasy of cooking.

i was inspired to create colorful and tasty meals but alas

i can feel it fading as each dinner event i schedule is guestless,

the guest of honor. much love to my roommate and his girlfriend for

trying my first meal, joval for my second, and annie for third.
